Unforgettable Company Team Building Trip
On September 11, Ackmie organized a 5-day, 4-night trip to Xi'an, China, taking us on a journey through time. Xi'an is the starting point of the ancient Silk Road in China and an ancient capital that witnessed Chinese civilization. We immersed ourselves in this historic ancient city, feeling the cultural atmosphere and local customs and savoring the local food.
Our journey started with a visit to Ci'en Temple. This Buddhist temple houses a towering tower from the Tang Dynasty, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which has stood for more than 1,300 years. We were fascinated by the rich history behind this building, which was built to house Buddhist scriptures brought back from ancient India by the eminent monk Xuanzang. We stood in front of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and listened to the story of Xuanzang's journey to the West. We were deeply impressed by his persistence, wisdom, courage, and contribution to the spread of Buddhism. The famous Chinese classic literature "Journey to the West" was adapted from the story of "Xuanzang's Journey to the West.".
The second stop is the Ming City Wall of Xi'an, which is one of the most well-preserved ancient city walls in China. It is 13.8 kilometers long and has a history of more than 600 years. It is one of the most famous city wall buildings in Chinese history in the late Middle Ages and the most complete ancient city wall building in China. We took a leisurely walk on the city wall and occasionally saw people riding bicycles along the wall, as if we could feel the footprints of the soldiers guarding the city hundreds of years ago. There were some old people in Xi'an singing Qinqiang (a local opera in Xi'an) under the city wall. The breeze brought their singing to our ears. At that moment, time seemed to slow down. We sat on the stone steps of the city wall and quietly enjoyed the comfort brought by the ancient city wall.
The third stop is the world-famous Terracotta Army of Qin Shi Huang. This terracotta army with a history of more than 2,000 years brings us a stunning visual experience. In this huge archaeological site, thousands of life-size soldiers, horses, and chariots were discovered. Each statue is unique, making us sigh at the grand vision of China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. The museum staff informed me that a villager named "Yang" discovered the Terracotta Army while excavating a well in the 1970s.To this day, the archaeological excavation of the Terracotta Army is still continuing, and perhaps more miracles will be discovered in the near future.
Xi'ans food is also worth savoring. In order to experience the authentic local atmosphere, we went to Muslim Street to look for food. This street is famous for its authentic local food. The tempting aroma of traditional Xi'an snacks such as roujiamo, yangroupaomo, biangbiang noodles, and barbecue lingered in the air. While sharing food and laughter with colleagues, we experienced the local food culture firsthand, which brought a perfect end to our day.
This trip was not just about sightseeing but also about bonding among team members. From exploring ancient sites to enjoying delicious food, this trip deepened our respect for China's cultural heritage and strengthened team cohesion. It can be said that this was a perfect fusion of culture, history, and teamwork.
